Boise-based singer-songwriter and producer DASH30 returns to Montaime with an infectiously catchy single: “whatchu want?”.

Since his 2020 EP “Say it Again”, DASH30 further explored his darker electro sound, expanding past themes of love towards bittersweet nostalgia in his self-released “NOTHING FEELS THE SAME” EP. Yet, his sound always hinted at a brighter, R&B laced pop sheen.

Now, DASH30 proudly debuts his new pop sound on Montaime with “whatchu want?”, a refreshingly upbeat song with the familiarity of the producer’s signature electro tendencies and deeply personal lyricism.

“whatchu want?” nails the hallmarks of dance-pop brilliance: relatable lyrics, catchy songwriting, and squeaky-clean production. DASH30’s lyrics starkly contrast the song’s brighter sound, expressing pent-up frustration in a window to his love life: “She has expensive taste / But too many choices, can’t make up her mind”. As the song hits the chorus, he opens up directly: “So whatchu want?”, while the instrumentation opens up with the rhythm section joined by rich synths filling up the soundscape. DASH30 masterfully wraps a tale of emotional overinvestment in an irresistible dance-pop package.

“whatchu want?” is out on streaming platforms this Valentine’s Day on 2/14/2021.
